I know people that have had problems with heat mats but in all my years of using them I have only ever had one heat mat that went wrong - I changed from my Habistat heat mat on one occasion and it was the alternative heat mat that caused a problem.

I now always use Habistat Heat Mats and have never had a problem with them - they may be a little dearer but worth it when you can see what may happen using a cheaper brand x

I remember that one as well Donkey - have used heat mats for years with the bearded dragons etc and in the shop when it was running, never had a problem with Habistat Heat Mats - mind you, I do check them every week and you can see signs of bubbling to show that something is not working properly - what happened to my other one and I took it out straight away x

That is dreadful love. The only person who has a heat mat in our house is Fluffy the Tarantula and i always keep an eye on it.
